Choosing a ferry for your operating waters
Start with the route, operating waters and daily duty, then compare vessel particulars and configurations before developing a ferry build brief.
Start with the crossing, not the model
Describe the route and whether the vessel will operate on a lake, river or coastal area. Add your passenger needs, payload and daily duty. These operating requirements are the starting point for reviewing a ferry or shuttle concept.
A model name or photograph alone does not establish suitability for a particular route. The catalogue presents preliminary vessel information, subject to project-specific engineering and final configuration.
Compare the relevant particulars
Read length overall, beam and maximum draft together with the hull form and capacities. Keep the stated configuration and loading basis in view when comparing models.
Review each documented propulsion option as a complete set. Installed power, maximum speed, cruise speed and range belong to that option; do not combine figures from different options. Classification targets are not evidence of awarded certification.
Turn operating needs into a brief
Africa Ferry is the builder/manufacturer, and vessel designs are by KND Naval Design. Enquiries begin with operating requirements; concept selection and project definition follow before detailed engineering.
